why are we here
Connect and empower Africans in Canada through resources, community building and advocacy. Providing an online platform that seeks to preserve and promote African cultural heritage, traditions and values in Canada, thereby sharing African culture with Canadians.
As there is strength in numbers, the need for unity among Africans in Canada is crucial, and the benefits are undeniable. Statistics of the Black population in Canada indicate a growth of over 1.5 million people as of 2021. Though this is a substantial growth since 1996, the Black community in Canada remains in the minority, representing only 4.3% of the total population in Canada
Providing the opportunity for Africans in Canada to connect, support each other through shared experiences. Amplifying the voices and concerns of Africans in Canada. Promoting, marketing and sales of authentic African products all on one platform
The lives of African migrants in Canada involve navigating discrimination and economic hardships while building strong, diverse communities and contributing to the development of Canada's society.
Early Black settlers faced segregation and limited opportunities, but a successive wave of African immigrants has enriched Canada's culture, economy and social fabric, creating vibrant communities despite ongoing challenges in areas like employment and social integration.
We cannot downplay the significant contributions Africans have made in various sectors of the Canadian economy, from healthcare, skilled trade, through to education.
What we seek to achieve as a business is to utilize digital technology to market our Black culture, products and services efficiently and effectively to ourselves and the larger Canadian market. We will employ the many digital channels such as our e-commerce website and social media platforms to achieve our objective.
